Picked up another Tahoe

Like the title states,got me another Tahoe.

It started with a guy i work with asking me if i know anyone who may need/want parts for a Tahoe.I was like ummm maybe,(he knows i drive one so....lol).He tells me a friend of his bought a Astro van from some lady and she pointed out a Tahoe sitting in her back yard.She told them they can have that vehicle to,free of charge,just get it out of here...

Well long story short the guy i work with claimed it and picked it up sunday.I stopped by his place after work to check her out and what not.I guess i should mention that its a '1995 2 door 4x4' and has 223K miles on it.It has also sat for over a year (PO died i guess and it was part of some estate thing)

He told me the day before that she starts right up,runs good,and the 4WD works flawless.So i just had to see for myself,i figured if she's to rough then i'll just strip it and then junk the rest.Well i got there and fired it up,ran great and was smooth and quiet.I then took it for a boot on his property.4WD worked great,went right into gear,no rattles,squeaks,bangs,nothing.... The exterier was quite solid and interior was in very good shape as well.

So all in all i was happy and wanted it.I ended up walking away getting it for $400 cash PLUS he is gonna tow it to my house,should have it here thursday or friday.When its here i'll take some good pix and post them up.

The only down side is it has no title,not a huge deal really.$20 plus i have to fill out a form for the DMV.

Im glad i picked this tahoe up cuz he planned on taking a torch to it and scapping the thing for short iron and maybe selling a few parts.

Nice, it looks a little rough, but definitely worth $400. I'd throw some OD green paint on it and use it as a beater. Wish I had come across it!

Yeah she has a fair amount of serface rust but over all its solid.The only rott hole i see is on the passenger side fender.I'll do my best to stop any more rust or rotting from going on.I mean the thing runs and drives to good to see it sent to the bone yard.

At this point im not real sure what im going to do with it.I mean i really don't need it,however like i said,i could not pass up a deal and i did not want to see it scrapped...I do know i will be getting a valid NY state title for it,cuz its not gonna do anyone any good if it can't be put on the road (unless it was used as an off road plow truck or something).I may keep it or sell it,time will tell i guess.I already have a few guys chomping at my heals for this Thing lol.

If i keep it than i may do just that

I have a friend who paints vehicles so i could have it done fairly cheap.

I thought about having it painted black and white,slapping on dual spotlights,and a push guard (Im sure i'll just go with all black)

The interior is pretty basic (like a fleet vehicle) front and rare vinyl seats,rubber flooring,crank windows,and typical fleet blue interior color.

I'd also like to do something with the rims,maybe painted black with chrome center caps.IDK...we'll see.I do plan on taking off the air intake and valve covers and repainting them (just for *****).

Again,when its gets here i'll post up more pix.
