When you took them off did it leave holes exposed that then could leak in the rain?

:waytogo: good deal. I'd hate to get water damage on a brand new ride but it sounds like you already thought about that :)

hahahaha. yes. paranoid as I am, I searched and searched for the factory plastic caps used to seal the mounting holes with no luck.

Now I just need to figure out this clanking noise and will be all set with the new ride.

Thanks Cmicasa the Great XvX.

Got the key.

As for the roof rails, I ended up taking them off for now. The added height was cutting it too close with the clearance in the parking garage at work. Will keep you tip in mind next time I need to use the roof rails.

No issues. I too thought the rails would be an issue going into some of the garages but found that I was wrong. Interesting enough.. at first I was skeptical about parking the Yukon in my home garage.. and upon first try folded the mirrors inward. Wouldn't U kno it??? The thing can fit even with the ears folded out.

I hear ya. I wish I had a two car garage with one door. Don't have to worry about squeezing the yukon in. Problem is, there is a support beam smack in the middle with a vertical pole in the worst possible spot (i.e. difficult to exit from drivers side). Also, due to renovations by prior owner, there is a circuit panel against the wall which encased by plywood (must be some building code requirement). This basically means that the length of the garage is cut short by about a foot and a half. Literally, I have two inches to spare front and back when the yukon is in the garage.

I keep telling my wife, let's renovate and build a detached garage in the back of the house (which means no support beam pole smack in the middle). See looks at me like I'm crazy!!!.
