As promised I went out and shot a couple of pictures. The last one is of the section of the quarter panel I need to replace so if anyone knows where I can get this section that is rust free I would appreciate it. I can weld it in so there are no issues

I have just finished rebuilding the drivers seat because I could not find a good used one. Had to buy a manual seat for the lower frame. Disassemble both seats and swap frames but use the original upolstry and foam as it is a power seat. The power seat track was tig welded and beefed up because it was broken. Also replace the latch on the console and installed a new used E brake release. Ordered a new grill and corner lenses. Priced a new rebuilt long block but I think I am going to go with a short block and some aluminum heads and intake and throttle body for a bit more go.

Damn, I thought I was the only one on the planet with a rust spot under the gas fill like that, except mine is rusted through. I'm hoping to address that (along with a paint job) next year (2012)

That is the Weirdest shit i ever seen. How can you get rust on that area if it has paint?

Paint was suppose to stop the metal from rusting

I think mine was hit during the previous owner's reign, causing it to dent, and some water probably got down in it, add some road salt, and presto...

I bought the truck with a small scratch there. I guess in the picture you cant see it very well but it is rusted right through and it looks like chit!!! Above it you can see where the rust is at the window? I have a bunch of spots on the truck where the paint just came off in a big piece, right down to bare metal. Very weird. So, anybody out there know where I can get this section of the quarter? I am motivated to do this and have it roughed in as I aquire the rest of the parts to do a mild restore on it.

I will get some daytime pics to show you how bad it really is!!

The track was the L bracket that the seat actually bolts to. The right rear corner broke right across the attachent point where it goes up and down and back and forth. Snapped right through the rivet.

Gotcha. mine snapped in the front. Those thin little "standoffs" first the right side, then the left side.
