New to the forum and to these trucks. I have a white 03 Yukon with too much chrome. I want to plasti dip the 22s, the grill and bumpers to match. The truck goes to the shop in the morning to get lowered and exhaust. My question is how long does this stuff last and how durable is it? I hear it doesn't last long. What are your takes on this and thanks for your help.

Black dip fades over time and look poopy imo

Also hard to take off. I would still use it....... but in limited applications. Small parts or badges etc

The whole lower part of my bumper has been plasti dipped for almost a year now the only bad spot on it is where my fog light rubs in it other than that still looks great

Center consol in exploder has been dipped for like 3 years. It's fine just parts have rubbed off due to people putting arms on it

Put at least 5 coats on if you want it to come off easily :imo:

As others have said, put several coats on.

But it all depends on wear and tear. I've seen bumpers only last a few months because of rock chips, always beings washed etc and I've seen wheels last for years that are kept clean and taken care of. If you put it on something like a handle thats going to get a lot of wear and tear, it won't last all that long.

I dipped my whole truck white last year and held up great. I just peeled it off 2 days ago with help from my 4yr old daughter lol. Apply it in the correct way and it will be fine.

Mine has held up pretty well with the abuse Ive put it through . It has faded some but not to terribly . I only have 2 cuts in my entire truck and that was due to some tight spots offroading . With the amount of dirt, and salt my truck sees honestly its held up better than the Frame I just repainted in june 2013 I dipped the body of the truck in Jan 2013 .

I can at least conclude that plastidip is more durable than Rustoleum haha
