where can you buy this stuff at locally

Most hardware stores like Lowes, Home Depot and Ace Hardware have it.

I have plasti dipped the brushed aluminum pieces the steering wheel has. It looked good for about a month but after that it started peeling. I just ripped it all off. I don't think the woodgrain in the steering wheel would last one trip.

I don't know how many coats you used but I think if you get it with 3 or so good coats it holds up better. Many people have it on the exterior of their cars with no issues. If it can hold up to getting beat by road debris it must be pretty decent stuff IMO :hands:

Sub!! Can't wait to see the installed pics. I tend to agree that tthe DP would not last on the steering wheel trim. Mine came stock with what seems like PD, and it has peeled to the point that I bought the brushed aluminum trim to replace it....

Make sure the area is clean using a degreaser to strip armorall etc. and it will stick just fine.

Ya, the wood grain on the actual steering wheel is what is holding me up. Just can't justify buying a new non wood grain steering wheel.

Yes actual steering wheel wood trim would not hold up.

I have my emblems and the chrome surround for my grill and GMC badge in the front plasti-dipped and it has been holding on strong for about a year now. But I guess its just the oils in ones hand that messes up the steering wheel brushed pieces if they were plasti-dipped.
