Plastic Cover On New Actuator?

it's possible you might have the wrong actuator if it does not match the old one 100%, there is no actuator under the steering wheel btw.

Might be, but every other actuator I find has that plastic piece on it.

My bad lol. The actuator is above the gas pedal.

i see what's going on now, take a pair of pliers and pull that metal piece off that you show sticking out in your photo, then your actuator will go on, looks like the old actuator just came completely apart and left the gear behind. go easy and wiggle it off you don't want to break that piece that it is attached to.

Yep got it off. I've put the new piece on and I finally have air blowing through after five years! This forum is absolutely fantastic!

Off topic but is there a blower motor in the rear that controls the rear A/C vents?

yes there is 2 actuators, a blower motor and a control module, that rear blower motor may also have a resistor, if you suspect the rear blower motor is out you can put 12v to it directly to test it.

Yea, that one is pretty easy to diagnose. Doesn't even want to come on when I try. Well guess there's my next fix
