Plastidip rims?

i want to plastidip my rims. theyre notthing special the stock ones but eventually i want to replace to tires to AT. was thinking is it better to wait till you switch tires to plastidip or if its done right it wont matter?

If you plastidip before replacing the tires when you go to replace the tires the lip of the rim will get rubbed on and the dip will peel on the edge.
