I am looking for help choosing a particular make and model HID kit for my fogs. My truck has the factory LED headlights and need a "correct" set! First off I would like to match the color as close as possible and would really like to try to 55W ballasts being the head lights are do bright. The 35W HID's I have now get drowned out so definetely want to try the 55's.

A couple of thigs are problematic ...

First of all the NNBS Escalade OEM LED headlights produce less lumens than the OEM 35W HID headlights. They just seem bighter because they have a halogen beam pattern with a white light, which is optimal for overall vision even with less lumens than HIDs.

Second, although they seem as white as HID bulbs they are actually not. If you look straight at them they have a yellowish hue. I never found specs but I suspect they are around 4000K-4200K, so if matching is desired that's the light temp to look for.

Third, if you use your fogs for any considerable period of time 55W will melt them. From what I have read 35W won't melt the esky fogs like they will the Tahoe/Yukon fogs, but they won't improve your functional output either.

Fourth, the output issue has to do with what fog reflectors are designed to do, which is not to provide an additional set of driving lights. Fog lights are meant to have a very limited specific use, namely to provide foreground lighting during adverse weather conditions ... putting an 'overclocked' light source is just going to overwhelm the design and glare like a mofo as the light will just go around the existing bulb cap inside the housing.

Are you certain about the headlights being less lumens? These things are the brightest I have ever seen, more so when I am out of the city. I can honestly say they are brighter then 90% of all the vehicles Ive ever driven with the brights on!

In regards to the fogs what would you recommend? I need something, one of mine is out (5th time in 1 year). Going away next week and need to purchase a set asap.

Thanks in advance for your help!
