Isimple makes an adapter, lets you plug your ipod/iphone into a USB jack, stays charged 24/7 and lets the steering wheel controls work the ipod/iphone to change songs... been using one for years and love it... I leave an ipod in my truck. it auto starts right where you left off.... and stays charged up, they also make an add on that lets you bluetooth your phone as well, works pretty well.... careful shopping you can do this for ~$70 on ebay. I did this until I installed a new HU, it was easy, cheap and worked great

This is exactly what I did and it works great. One of these days I might find a double DIN head unit with CarPlay that I like enough to make the swap, but for now this is the cheapest way to retain factory control and looks, and pipe in whatever music you want.

I bought this bluetooth AUX adapter from Amazon and now I can stream as long as I want without having to worry about recharging.
