ok it started with the front/pass wheel making a grinding noise so i figured it was time to change the rotors and pads. while doing so i had a problem with getting the front/drive rotor off. everyone and everything i looked up said it should slide off. to just give it a lil whack with a hammer. so i banged and banged away. nothing. then i put a jack in there and jacked it from the back nothing. the jack sliped out and knocked the calliper down and the center popped out. almost giving up i decide to take the nut off for the bearing. lord and behold the rotor slide off. with that settled i used a calliper kit to fix the calliper and continued to fix that side. the other side was a breeze. after bleeding the wheels i went to go test drive. it was fine besides a lil grinding, which i figured it was from the new pads. after for a few miles on a right turn i heard a pop and the grinding got worse. at high speeds it wasnt that bad but at low speeds it would sound horribble. at one point it sounded like it was rubbing agianst the tire. when i got home i took off the tire and cant see whats wrong. please help with any troubleshoots or if you know what it is. I really dont want to admit defeat and get ripped off.

Did you tighten the bearing nut down all the way to spec. If you didnt then this could be your problem. Look at all the suspension components and make sure everything you removed was put back on correctly and tight.

everything else is nice and tight. im thinking the bearing went out or maybe it not in right... but it looks like it slides in no particular way as long as the nut as on tight

There is a torque spec for basically every nut and bolt on that thing! I'm not sure at the moment what it is (my manual is in the garage), but its usually around 100 to 110? And yes you can over tighten it, if its too tight you could ruin it.

I have used anti seize on the back of the rotors for instances like this, works great.
Tighten the bearing nut fully then back it off and finger tighten.
If they are factory bearings, its time for new ones. I have found that the tend to wear more frequently than other vehicles I have owned. Get a quality bearing greese to.
Are you sure its coming from the front?

If they are warn and damaged, yes, they could brake after falling. Though I dont think you would brake one unless it was severely warn.
I do believe they can be damaged if you over tightened bearings.

First, I'd replace both inner and outer bearings. They are inexpensive and would at least be preventative maintanence.

Your best bet would be to get a Hanes or Chiltons book. They are pretty detailed and worth it just to have.

I agree w/ Big Red, you definately did something when you used the jack to remove your rotor. I woudlnt doubt it if you did damage a wheel bearing, inner or outer.

Good Luck

unknown at this time.
Maybe you can get some a lot of multi angled camera shots with good calarity for us to look at? Including where the jack was supporting it.
