Are we talking 4x4 or 2wd? 4x4 100 is not enough drive axle nut is 165 ft.lbs. If 2wd I would be suprised the rotor would even turn. I will assume 4*4 and say either a lower shock mount, hub/bearing or attachment bolt or internals of cv shaft.

Also if 4x4 yes the rotor should have slid right off but will know myself this sunday when I work my brakes and suspension.

in that case hub bearing roller/cage, a shock mount. Is it possible when the jack issue happens it dislocated the spring and the popping sound you heard was it resetting? Just a wild thought. But it would not explain the noise. I sure hope it damage the knuckle or spindle on it I'm sure that will cost some time and bucks.

Some call the whole assembly the spindle others may call it the spindles shaft. 6 of one half a dozen of another, hah.

What was the jack resting on when you used it?
Where did the jack deflect off of?

Good call Sun, check your coil, it is a possobilty that it did get bumped out of its seat or have shifted a little.

Rotors have a tendency to sieze on the spindle, over time, weather, climate changes etc,,,,,,,,,,. That's why I clean the surface then apply a little anti seize on the back of the rotor. Vwalla. Anti sieze is your friend.

I'm anxious to see these pics to try to solve this problem.
