I need to have my seats operating in order to pass Maryland safety inspection to get this registered. Yes it sucks living behind enemy lines.
I just bought a 2003 GMC Yukon SLT and the driver's seat is all the way back but does not move forward. When operating the button in reverse, you feel the motor work and click as if the seat is at it's most rearward position. When operating it forward it does nothing, but you hear a very quiet click, probably coming from the memory seat module.
Upon many searches, many have stated I just needed a reprogram or flash of the memory seat module. The dealer did this for $101 and there is no change. They say I need a whole new seat frame riser at the cost of $1,400 for the part. There really is no way to just swap out a motor, based on how its designed, unless i am wrong. So I figure I can get a seat frame at the junkyard for cheap, right?
In order for me to remove my seat, I have to remove all for mounting bolts. The front ones are easy to access (But reverse Torx????) since the seat is stuck all the way back, the seat is blocking access to the rear bolts, WTF do I do now?
