Please Help!?

Ok, my 2000 tahoe limited recently started a "Whine" sound under the hood after 20 minutes of driving it. The whine gets louder as you accelerate. Does it while driving and while in park. ONLY does it after 20 minutes of driving, will NOT do it until you've driven it so i know its something that gets hot. Here is a list of what ive replaced trying to find this "whine".

1) Changed Both Tensioner and Idler pulley.
2) Took my 200amp Alternator off, had it tested by an Alternator shop here and they said it was fine. I put a different alternator on and it still whined. Put my original back on, still whines.
3) Took out one of my Yellow Top optima batteries (it was bad). Put brand new Optima in, charging above 14.4v now, still whines. (I run a Red Top Optima for crank and run. And a Yellow top strictly for my Audio.)
4) After that I checked and filled the Power Steering Fluid, still whines.
5) Checked and replaced Belt, still whining.
6) Changed Fan Clutch, could stop the fan with my finger while running. Still whining..

Starter was changed last month, it was dragging. Water Pump was changed out about 3 months ago, put a Flow Kooler high volume water pump on it then. Also changed the power steering pump at same time. I'm completely at a loss as to what could be making this whine sound i mean, whats left that can do it? please any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Does it only do it while under load or will it make the whine while idled in park?

Sometimes the only way to troubleshoot a pesky noise is with a mechanic's stethoscope, I have one and use it on occasion when I can't tell where the sound is coming from. Of course that isn't going to help you if the engine has to be under load to create the noise.

Yes if i drive it for over 20 minutes, it will do it while sitting in park idling, or driving it, or sitting in idle and giving it gas it gets faster and louder. It does it regardless after 20 minutes of running.

In that case I'd say get the mechanics stethoscope then. It should help you narrow down where it's coming from. It's a cheap item, usually less than $10.

That's what I was gonna just recommend as well!! I bought one a few years back from HF and it was dirt cheap, always forgot I had one till 2 weeks ago when we were trying to figure out if a tensioner was going out on my sisters car!! Worked awesome, very useful!

My 2003 was going through the same thing then i finally found it. it was my AC compressor. the bearings in it went bad. Tough fix bit the sound went away.

Put the stethoscope on the water pump and its the culprit. Clear as day. Any suggestions on replacement? This one was a FlowKooler high volume water pump from summit racing that cost me 120$ only lasted 3 months.

Only 3 months?!?!?! I'd be getting a hold of Summit ASAP and getting my money back on it!! As for a replacement, unless you have a huge radical motor, a stock replacement works great!
