So after seeing what you’re going through with misfires, heat etc.. with the Taylor wires and socks, I’m second guessing this decision. I’m considering returning those, and getting the ceramic boot Accel wires that @Chrismnj has. Just not sure about the compatibility, since it looks like they’re advertised as for the gen 4 LS motor.. maybe I just haven’t found them yet. I suspect they’ll be fine, but not sure if the coils are different from gen 3 to gen 4, or what. Also, I ordered the Jegs heat socks which I think are ok, but they certainly aren’t going to be tight around the cables themselves, so wonder if they’ll be more harm than good.

I believe it’s the length of the wires that’s most critical so if the Accel set is short enough that the wires don’t lay on the headers you’ll be good to go. All my problems come from the wires coming in direct contact with the headers. The boots never melted and if the wires didn’t touch, there is no need for the socks. IDK why everybody makes wires that are 4” too long. Taylor, MSD, and even the ACDelco spec’d for my truck were all too long.

@Chrismnj, please take a look at your coils, and tell me the part number on them. The Holley/ Accel site only lists the needed plug wires for the gen 4 LS, and I have a gen 3. Only other option is a “universal” kit, which I’d rather avoid. The ones you have appear to be the perfect length, and I’m hoping to order them.

Thanks Chris! Unfortunately, mine are 19005218, so I’m guessing those plug wires won’t work for me. Next up is to call and find out my best option I guess.

Why don’t you reference by oem plugs, or as you mentioned give them a call, but the length is perfect
