There were a batch of bad OEM distributor caps that came out over the last 2 years or so. I replaced a bunch for corrosion on brand new kohler generator engines. PSI makes them, but they are GM 4.3, 5.0, 5.7L motors and the V8 ones had the issues. I'd just replace from a good vendor. Try VALLEYPARTS.COM
