Poor fitting trim on running boards

Saw this yesterday and couldn't believe how poorly this was executed. These trim pieces are either a bad batch or just plain designed too short. Has anyone complained about this and gotten it fixed?

MIne are the exact same way. Only have 35 miles on mine right now... so it came from the factory like that.

Not designed too short... That's how they are. Same on the nnbs. The joint was in line with the line between the front and rear doors
