So I'm driving home Saturday from east texas and doing 76 in a 65. Had the cruise set at 70. I see him on the side of the hwy, i'm in the passing lane. Then I see him jump in his car and I said ok, didn't think 5 miles over wld get me a ticket. Never has in the past. Then he said, radar said 76:emotions122:, and then i remembered i have 22's now and that is something i was going to have justin calibrate for me next month. First ticket in over 10 yrs. Hello defensive driving.

I've gotten it a couple of ways. Around here we have those radar machines on the side of the road where it tells you what speed you are going and flashes if you're speeding, so I just look at that as I drive by and look at my speedometer. The other way is I have an old Garmin GPS which tells me what speed I am going, so when I switched wheels I plugged it in and observed the difference between what it was reading and my speedometer.

Granted, neither of these two ways is very scientific, but it's as much effort as my curiosity enabled. :)

That sucks! I know all too well what it's like to get a speeding ticket. I've had more than my fair share in my time....

When I see those radar machines on the side of the road that flashes your speed I always gun it and see how fast I can get it to read :D Ours around here never have cameras to give tickets so it must be to warn people to slow down  I played that "game" much more when I was younger, though old.gif
