Went for a drive today and put the kon in a parking lot and pulled some tight turns in both directions and no popping. Came back to the house and put it on a lift and no slack in the cv joints that I can tell. I did notice that my front diff is leaking around both half shafts. Anyone know of a good fix? Also, how much is a diff rebuild or maybe even buy another one in good shape?

well that sucks....anyone know if the front diff out of a 2000 yukon is the same as the 01? I'm assuming it is but not sure...I know where I might get my hands on one from a junkyard.

I have the same front end passenger side popping sound. It does it when I turn left more than right. Also when going over bumps at a slow speed. I have checked all ball joints, tie rods, and put new cv axles plus idler arm. I cant figure out what the noise is coming from with all signs of acceptable joints. Could it be something in the frame to a-arm bushings? I am not seeing any play in the front end but I want the popping sound to stop!

If it sounds like it's on the passenger side, and it's worse when turning left, it sounds suspicious for hubs. When you changed CV axles, did you change out the hubs too? For simplicity, you grease up all the zerks? Just throwing out ideas.

Yes...thanks for posting...I forgot to come back and make a write up.

So I go to a shop to have it looked at and the guy lets me go into the back and check things out with him....Didn't find any real problems but what I did find was that my cross-member was very very loose, along with my lower A-arm/ or whatever that suspension component is named.

Anywho, We torqued them done with an impact and I haven't heard a single pop since then. That was about 2 weeks ago so I think its safe to say that was the problem.

Thanks for the update, I will check all the front end bolt to see if they are tight or loose.
