I'm heading out in the morning to look at a 2006 Tahoe 4X4 with the 5.3 liter engine. The vehicle is stock, and I'm not sure of the trip package yet, but it's fully loaded with the tow package. it currently has 44K miles on it.

Are there any issues with these that I need to know about first??

Thanks in advance for your answers...

Jon

I own a 2006 YUKON 4x4, 5.3L with 89K miles on it and I am not having any issues whatsoever.

Good luck, 44k miles is very low, hope the vehicle will be what you are looking for.

Keep us posted and send some pictures after you got the truck.

I've got a 2003 Tahoe Z71 with 174k miles. I'm about as happy as I can be with my truck. I bought her new.

Repair list:
Water pump @ 120k
Alternator @ 140k
Shocks @ 160k
Fuel pump @ 163k

I haven't touched the brakes yet, I'm buying the hardware for upgrading to the GMT900 front brakes and replacing the hubs at the same time. Even though, neither one appear to be going out anytime soon.

Only thing that is bothering me is the driver memory isn't working. I heard it's just a $70 dollar fix from the dealership where they do some kind of upgrade or flash the module to get the memory working.

The last 2 oil changes have been Valvoline synthetic. I also do the seafoam treatment times 3 at each oil change.
Added Lucas trans treatment because she was slipping a bit but, now she shifts like normal.

Future Mod will be E-fans and BBT which should give me a touch more power and better shifting.

I love my truck and I'm very happy with it.

I ended up buying a 2005 Tahoe LT K1500 with 52,000 miles. The '06 needed tires and had a dent in the lift gate. It also has the tow package and 5.3 liter engine.

It took 6 hours of negotiating, driving others, more negotiating, more driving, and finally negotiating before they finally agreed to my terms...$14,000 with no trade in vehicle, and I paid half of that in cash.

I think I did well...

Looks goood any plans for it?

I need to figure out how to add an AUX jack or a Bluetooth adapter to the stereo so I can listen to my phone without a cassette.

Since I drive about 90 miles a day, plus the monthly 600 mile roundtrip to Ohio, I'll be finding ways to increase MPGs as best as I can.

Other than that, drive it and tow with it...

Looks good. Looks like the previous owner de-badged the doors too. I'd say you got a good deal.

For long term MPG gains: CAI, E-fans, BBT, synthetic oil, street tires at or near max pressure. Regular cleaning of MAF, TB, FI, ect.
