So I just scooped up a corsa exhaust for my 06 denali and the modding has officially started :party36: . I did some research and know that my stock trans will only hold about 425-450whp but couldnt exactly find out how people are building them. Built auto's are something thats completely new to me so i have alot to learn. I know people were putting different tq converters/stall's in them and also bigger trans coolers, but what about the interals in the trans? The truck has only 50k miles and I still have a warranty for another 20k miles or so i think so nothing it happening right away. This gives me time to start aquiring parts and do research.

I was planning on going with an air intake/long tubes/cam and probably a wet kit (93 octane tune obviously). I need to see what the overall power goal with the vehicle will be. I would love a blower but dont see that in the budget at the current time. I need to keep it justifiable. any input is appreciated as this is all new to me. If anyone needs help building a subaru give me a hollar! haha

i wouldnt count on a stock unit holding that much..i blew my stock 4l60e up in 2 months with a stock 6.0..4l65e is not that much better than a 60e, but its a bit stronger with the 5 pinion planetaries. The weak points are the 3/4 clutch in the 60/65s and thats what went out in mine. My built 4l65e is holding up fine after 3 years, but i wouldnt trust much more power to it than i have.. im a 6.0 with a tune, intake, longtubes and full exhaust.

i ran a 4l70e (pretty much 4l65e beefed up) on my 5000 lb tbss. I had vince who used to work at flt build it and ended up doing a 3600 converter yank. My wife drove it daily for 3 years and i sprayed it on heads/cam/125 shot truck made 602/622 and only had it rebuilt right before I sold it.

Ive done many tahoes and with the 4l60e kit from pcmforless/cooler and a converter and they have been great. the yank ptb3600/ptb3200 is very streetable. We had 4.10 gears and big cam and in the hills of san francisco drove a lot better than the vig 3200 my buddy had in the same truck.

4.10 gears with a 31 inch tall tire on the tahoes is perfect. 3.73 is good to but with 4.10 gears and 31-32 tall tire its fine on freeway

here is the kit they have one for the 60-65e also
