I think that my intake gaskets were leaking causing some of my problem. The idle has really dropped since I replaced intake gaskets. My rear knock sensor boot was off and the sensor was totally corroded.

my EXHAUST manifold does have a leak... but i was told that couldnt be causing my problem....... ???

My 2004 Yukon Denali XL had sensors go bad, it was traction control, or wheel speed sensors. When pulling out from a stop sign or stoplight when you would accelerate it would bog the motor down and downshift sometimes. After I had the sensors replaced it was fine.

interesting about the sensors... mine is a 4x4 with the "auto 4wd" + "2wd high" + "4wd high" + "4wd low".... do i have the traction control sensor? or is it just the wheel speed sensors??

Do we have a tech in the group? I have a scanner, just trying to do some diagnosis. Want to know where the manifold pressures should be, maf readings, etc. Maybe a bad sensor?!?! Under light acceleration not too bad. More acceleration it loses power. Full acceleration merging it bucks going into second. Pulling a load it feels way underpowered. Cats are new, intake gaskets new, had code for knock sensors so replaced them, as well as harness, fuel pump new, fuel filter new.... so my next step is spark plugs again, they have about 40k on them. They shouldn't be bad but then again nothing lasts 100k

Just drove it to the airport to drop off my inlaws. I noticed since replacing the knock sensors, harness, and intake manifold gaskets it seems the truck is pinging. That's why I'm doing the plugs next. I had plugs go bad on me a few times before and thought clutch was slipping/Trans was going. Replaced plugs and problem solved. My 06 Ram said no plugs until 100k and I had to do them at 50k. So I will do them tonight once it cools down and take it for a run. If problem persists, I really need some tech talk on proper readings of sensor data info to see what's off causing the problem.

Well shaunt23, I just found my answer. Like I said earlier I just did my intake gaskets and knock sensors, along with sensor harness. While I had the intake off I cleaned the intake manifold, throttle body, and intake ports in the heads. Also cleaned the faces of the fuel injectors. It helped, but still wasn't there. Well, I got new AC Delco platinum plugs (oe replacement) and installed them yet again. I checked the gap of the ones I took out and I was shocked to find the gap was around .030 instead of the required .060. How it changed is beyond me, there was still a mark on my plug gapper from where I set the last ones to .060. Either somehow I screwed up and forgot to gap them or the gap changed back over time. All the new ones I got were around .030, I set them to the required .060 and took the truck for a drive. She has her power back. I still have a slight ping intermittent but I will say it might be the gas. Next tank I'm running brand name fuel to see if it gets rid if the ping. It pinged for a few minutes until I got a few miles into the new plugs, hit the highway and went hammer down a few times. So, I will say check your gap.

hmmmm... the gap... I had the problem before I changed the plugs initially, but the problem has obviously gotten worse... I am sure my mechanic checked the gap, but maybe it has changed like yours?

honestly I am not a mechanic, but the feeling I get is that my engine struggles due to back pressure... I dont believe my problem is mechanical... It has to do with something choking the engine, that is either some sensor giving bad readings or the exhaust leak... I am going to try and do the exhaust manifold this week and see what happens.
