Greetings.
The Drivers side power fold mirror on my Crew Cab stopped folding yesterday. I swapped out the mirrors on my Crew Cab to power fold, turn signal, with puddle lamps a few years ago. I seem to vaguely recall that there was a mod that could be done that replaced the plastic gears with a metal gear. Does anybody have that mod or recall the same?
Back up plan is to gut a mechanism out from a donor mirror.
Better yet, does anyone know if the Cadillac power mirrors have better motors? Reason for the ask is that I do have a set of power fold mirrors, with turn signals, heated, puddle lamps etc up in my attic. Other solution could be to color match the Escalade mirrors and switch the caps from chrome to black then replace my mirrors again.
