Hi All, I have a 2017 Tahoe LT. considering installing OEM Power Retractable Steps. wiring and all. I do see the aftermarket Amp/Lund brand that plugs into the OBM. Does anyone know about the wiring diagram or components that are needed for the OEM steps, or it would be plug and play for the LT. (Im aware it is available on the Premier)

This is the only conversion I have seen online.

I think it is pretty straight forward, but will require more than just plug and play.

It can be done. I’ve built harnesses for some folks that have successfully added power assist steps to a LT and LS Tahoe.

Like Phil (the producer of the video), I build harnesses for the K2XX platform. Phil focuses on the trucks where I concentrate on the SUVs.

To do this, you’ll need the complete step assemblies including its module, the correct switch and the harness from me. The harness has a chassis and cabin section to install.

Send me an email to [email protected] and I’ll go over the details and validate your needs.

Possible to install a kit like that on my '05 Yukon XL ?
My plastic boards seem too inside the body to make for a good step.

If you are looking for a set of power steps from an Escalade Platinum steps only no motors. I have a pair. I purchased new ones from the dealer in order to get them color matched. I swapped them out when they were done.

I don’t have a good working knowledge of the older models. Most of my efforts are spent on the 2015-2020 suv platform.

In theory, it may be possible. The steps have their own module. There’s a dash mounted switch that’s required. Other than power/ground, there’s a GMLAN data signal that would have to be present. I don’t know if a 2005 would have that signal.

Just clarifying... steps alone or steps with mounting brackets/frame?

I am not sure what I would need to mount them in place of my stock plastic running boards.
......... If my mount locations would even work....

Sorry, I don't have a clear answer, unless someone has already done it....

Steps alone. I reused the motors and brackets to attach the color matched steps to. Mounting motors / brackets to the frame are a total of 4 items.

The added benefit of the Escalade power steps are the light that is part of the step that comes on and then cycles off.

You would need 2 motors and 2 brackets for a total quantiy of 4 items in addition to the running boards. Some models are plug and play while others are not. It depends on what vehicles these are going to get installed in and the options that are available.
