unknown at this time.
more like loosening the lock nut on top of gear and snugging the shaft slightly and then locking the nut back down. it will help a little bit but eventually the gear should get overhauled.

WOW. but its a new gearbox. not even 100MILEs on it..

Is there an instruction of how to perform this

I would assume its like this:

Step 1: loosed it the NUTS.
Step 2: Tighten the Center Thread
Step 3: tighten the Nuts

LOL. yep that sounds like an instruction i just made ... hahaha. my life. is so funny

i'm in the same sort of boat as you are.

replace my gear box with a reman from auto zone. still has quite a bit of slop to it. after some searching i found a company called "red head" steering gear and they make some really great reman units.

as for the power steering pump, i went with a cheap replacement off rockauto. again probably not the best idea but its better than what it was. after searching a company call agr performance makes some nice power steering pumps.

you'll definitely be spending a bit more $ this route but those are some quality units that should really hold up and perform well.

don't forget to use some royal purple steering fluid and throw in a power steering filter to make sure its at peak performance.

I wish i could get my money back from autozone. BUT can't i dont think

The only suggestion they have is to replace it. But they need to understand that is LABOR

I have Check EVERY Single Bolts and made sure it was TIGHT. but still. sloppy

I'm starting to hate this CAR.. I never gotten to use it for nearly 2 years now. ALL I DO IS PUT MONEY MONEY MONEY. ahhh

Its a 17" rim. but the tires. I'm not sure Right now because its on the SHOP..

I actually paid a Mechanic to replace the Power Steering Gear box this time. because I though i did not install it properly.

after he install the new gear box. and still doing the same thing "drive side to side with nearly 4-5 inch steering PLAY".

He said he will need another day to diagnose why its still doing this..

he said IT maybe the Steering Coupler. which makes sense to me....

I think it is the coupler now. after a few research I have made
