R First pump shaft broke, put in a second one, lasted 6 months and I suspect that pump shaft broke as well. Now only have help turning the wheel when driving or you give it a little gas. → Makes parking lots kind of a b*tch...
I am still in the gearing up phase of doing my freshening on the 5.3. One of the things I plan to change while doing the oil pump and others is the power steering pump. Has anybody elses had a problem with multiple power steering pump shafts breaking? I'm wondering if maybe the steering is turning too far and needs to be adjusted in some way, or if I just happen to have gotten a bum pump on the replacement.
