So i thought i would do an update to my last post on here. I have a 2001 GMC Yukon Denail, I love my truck but the power steering was getting really bad at low speeds. I searched all the fourms for an answer, Weather it was the pump or this crazy valve. The valve is called an EVO valve and it is attached to the back of the power steering pump. What this thing does is it allows for full flow of fluid at low RPMs and restricted flow at high RPMs. Preety much all it does is save you a small amount of gas millage. Well the dont make this valve anymore so you have to call your dealership and order one. If you need the part number let me know i can get you all the info you need to do a pump. The big deal for me was no one has anything on here about what to do to totaly fix a Power steering pump. So if you have one coming up let me know i can talk you through it. Someone should add to this and sticky it so the info gets out.

I went to the dealer and asked about the evo valve a while back. They said the same thing you did, gm doesn't make it?

The guy at the parts counter ended it there basically.

How do I get that valve I'm wondering?

You ordered one?

I need to do a pump and that valve....if I even have the EVO valve.

My truck ticks like mad while I go lock to lock, at low speed.

It clunks and pops and snaps like crazy when I back out of driveways. It's so loud. Blah.
