My Question : I’ve got a 04 Tahoe 4wd model & love it ! My steering is now sloppier than I like . Soo can a 07’- & later power steering rack be installed (up graded ) on my 04 ‘ 4wd model ? I do know what I’m doing around cars ( 40 yr professional mechanic) & have always wondered about the crossover /upgrade . I can’t be the only one thinking

Ha e you changed out pitman, idler, ball joints, tie rods etc? You could adjust the original steering box also some

frame is different. would have to be tons of custom fab to make it work.
Everything is good enough to get more miles on these components. I am a retired auto with a car life at my house . I could just keep adjusting the steering box until I can’t get a smooth return but that’s not my answer . I don’t want to spend $$ in an old direction . NOTE: I have 17” z71 rims w yoko 275/65/17 & am very happy the ride quality . So my question , can an 08’> Power steering rack be an upgrade for 04’ Tahoe ?
I assume that you have vacuum-assist and not hydroboost?
I haven't read or heard of anyone doing it, but that doesn't make it impossible, your going to have to just get one and size it up and see what you have to do to make it work just like any modification, tape measure, ruler and pen & paper.
That’s another crossroad for more information. Hydroboost is what I’m running , not gonna work ?
I think @randeez did a electric steering on his nnbs and hyroboost, he might have some insight even though it's a different gen
