Great question. Exactly the sort of items I’m hoping someone with a Premier or RST can speak to. Have done the research but it’s difficult to decipher small differences.

I think the seat material is identical, it’s just the color/stitching that’s different. When you go to build one, they both say the same

“Perforated leather seating surfaces”

I think GM and others use both terms 'wood' and 'leather' loosely. Always wondered how they get away with the creative descriptions without including disclaimers.

Anyone know if there is an OEM black exhaust tip for the quad exhaust? I see the singular black exhaust tip on the build website but it doesn’t look the same as the quad exhaust tips that come with the 6.2/sport package.

Wood is used in many luxury vehicles.
The Denali has real wood trim.

Here is a pic of it on my center console. Took this yesterday:
I honestly don’t think that’s real wood, some sort of composite or pvc that can be stained and sealed that looks like wood. Maybe I’m wrong but it just doesn’t feel like real wood

I was told by a woodworker in Gatlinburg, TN that they do use real wood and then laminate it for protection. Not sure what kind of protection but I think the lamination kinda cheapens it's look. He provided this info unsolicited.

I’ve seen enough wood to know it’s the real stuff.
GM says it’s wood in their marketing material.

It’s wood…I’ll know for sure the first time I scratch it.

Up side of wood, it can be refinished!

Here’s a pretty good article from motor trend outlining the interior differences.

It honestly is probably a wood veneer which actually if scratched deep enough thru the laminate surface can not be refinished. You’ll burn thru the surface trying to sand it. Veneer is only 3mm thick of wood before a glue attaches it to particle board. So yea technically it is real wood but the cheap kind lol

Thanks for these!
Doesn’t look bad. Would prefer it to be more black then brown but not horrible. Still seems a bit dated of a look
Have you considered a Yukon instead? It may have less wood grain and more metal looking accents, not sure, never seen an SLT interior in person. Of course, your whole dilemma is wait for your RST or take this Premiere…so I guess that isn’t really the best suggestion.
