Sorry......this is basically what i have right now....
Look at the pic and you see the type of connections on the fuel lines. They are the plastic type. Then look on the sending unit plastic nipples and you see the "clip" that holds the connector in place. My new line has a different type of connecter. It has the metal collar type with the 4 sping clips inside and you need that special tool to release it. Is there something I have to do? Do I remove the clips off the sending unit to make the new connector fit? Or is there soemthing else i need like an adapter? Kinda confused as to why they are different......hope that clears it up more. The fitting i have on the new line is the metal collar quick-connect fitting

Sounds like they got you the wrong part. The new line should look exactly like the old lines. You shouldnt need to change anything or do anythign else besides clip them together.

Where did you get the line from>?

I got the line from gmpartsgiant.com, and I pretty sure its the right part. A previous owner had the fuel pump done so I am worried that it wasn't done right....

I dont have a pic of the new connection right now.....gonna go back and mess with it after I take the boy to school.....

The old one is just like what I have in the pic above. The new is a metal collar that has 4 little "ears" in them. These "ears" are supposed to hook on a flange about a half inch from the end of the pipe it is connecting to. You need a line disconnect tool to remove it. I have posted in another forum and someone said to just remove the plastic clip off the sending unit and I will be fine. I just dont want to start butchering anything yet....

The old style is the fitting on the right of this.......the new is on the left.....go figure.....

Thanks for the help.....I think I am going to remove the clip on the sending unit and try to get it to fit. The clip doesn't look to be a part of the sending unit nipple. Hopefully it doesn't break. If I remove it and it doesn't fit.....I will just buy a new plastic connector, cut the original off the new line, and "frankenstein" it together.....wish me luck LOL

Ok....took all of 5 mins.....just had to push harder and it snapped right in. No need to modify anything and kept the old plastic on the fuel sender nipple. LOL
