I'm asking for advice from people here who have purchased the AutoCal and can speak from experience. I have all ideas that Black Bear's tuning services are top notch. The problems I am having are with the AutoCal device. I followed the instructions and hooked the device up to the diagnostic port before I cranked the engine. Even so, during the data logging process, the PCM threw an engine code. I deleted the code several times using the device, and it still persisted in coming back after about 20 minutes or so of driving. Yesterday, I disconnected the battery, tapped the brake pedal several times to drain the remaining current, and left the vehicle for right at 48 minutes before I reconnected the battery. After about 20 minutes of driving, once again, the engine light came on. Also, since shortly after I began the data logging process, the transmission has been shifting hard between first and second gear, and some times so hard that I am concerned that this process has caused permanent transmiossion damage. Has anyone else here had similar problems? If so, were they resolved with the installation of the tune, or did they continue to persist? I would like to make this work, but am concerned about possible damage to the transmission, and also to the PCM. Any thoughts y'awl can share based on your experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm almost positive the auto cal cannot cause this.

And I've used it on my own truck

Nothing has been flashed to your vehicle, so you are still on the stock tune. What is that DTC?

So both Bank 1 and Bank 2 are lean. Have you installed anything recently? Intake Tube? Check your intake tube and vaccuum lines and make sure they have not come loose.

This is definitely not an AutoCal issue. Need to get this taken care of before tuning.

If you are able to get a datalog over to us, we can help diagnose.

Thanks. I feel a little better, although the codes did not start until I began to data log. Could this cause the hard shifts from first to second also?

In all fairness, the first time I recall doing any hard acceleration was also when I started to data log. I will have a look tomorrow and report back. Methinks the new Airaid Jr. could be the culprit after all.

I did send a data log in. Sounds like I may need to log some more if I can find the problem.

Thanks again.

Sounds like your MAF sensor plug came loose, honestly. Have you rechecked all of your connections?
