Programmer help

Just got a 2003 Tahoe z71.. Just ordered 35 mud grapplers and a 6" rough country lift. Looking to purchase a programmer. What would be a good one to get. Last one I had was a bully dog.

Black Bear tuning, no hand held programmer will come close.

Also, if your planning on 35's, you'll want to look into re-gearing if you haven't already.

What gears would I need to go with? I've never put gears into my trucks. But I've also never kept a truck long enough to do anything with them. I plan on keeping this one so 35's are what I plan on running for awhile but eventually I want to go to 37's. Any difference in what I would need for 35's vs 37's?

I'd go with a 4.56 gear at least.

Any brand you recommend? And I know it helps pull the tires, but does it help or hurt the gas mileage?

Gears will help relieve the stress of larger tires on your drivetrain, mainly your transmission. Your MPG will improve with gears and 35" tires vs. stock gears and 35" tires as the motor won't have to work as hard to get the truck moving.

I know i might catch some flack for saying this but... my superchips flashpaq worked great on my 06 2500hd with an lq4 6.0l, lifted on 35s... that same flashpaq makes my 06 denali scream! Its no custom tune but it does allow for tire size change... tow/perf. Tune... dtc code reader. And imho they do work.
