So about a month and a half ago I bought a 96 Tahoe 2dr 4x4 with 261k on the original engine, I knew that I'd have to have the engine overhauled or replaced but I figured in due time that would happen. The day I get my pink slip is the day that it heated up, heads cracked, oil boiled over, and the engine seized up. Now I'm at about week 5 of the overhaul and I've put new pistons, crankshaft, heads, seals and gaskets, and other small things and I am nearing the end of the build. I just pressure washed the entire empty engine bay and i can see it nice and clean. Hopefully by the end of the day, I'll be set and ready to bolt the engine right in. As for those of you asking why I just didnt go with a new crate, I thought it'd be more interesting to overhaul it myself. I'll be posting pictures of the final product as soon as it's done.

Slow progress today, my nephews came over so I didn't do much and I also had to strip down the door to my Grand Prix. So between the kids and the car, I didnt get much done. Hopefully I'm done with the engine tomorrow and I can cruise over to the tire shop and throw some nice fat rubber on those needy wheels. I'll be overhauling the interior on my days off work. I've got a long road ahead, but i think it'll be worthwhile
