About a month ago me and my buddies were all drinkin and we were throwin around the idea of slappin a SNES in my tahoe. Rather than just hiding one under the seat i wanted to make it look good...ish. I dont have pics all the way through because my camera stopped working every now and again.
First hole cut
Used the plastic i cut out to make a bracket to rest the SNES circuit board on for support. Used some fiberglass for a little more strength.
To keep the circuit board in place i drilled a hole through the little bracket i made and used one of those plastic push in pins to hold it there. I had to make a little notch in the metal frame of the console to make it fit and notched out the top of one of those plastic spacers, then pushed it in with channel locks. Doesnt move at all so im glad some of my half-assery comes in handy sometimes.
This is where my camera stopped working so i only have the after pics of fiberglassing. I cut out the hole for the controllers, cleaned the plastic, sprayed adhesive promoter and then a layer of spray adhesive. Laid a cut up tshirt over the unit and coated it with resin. I laid the fiberglass on top of that and added more resin. Let it dry over night then sanded it down with i think 80 grit. Covered it all in bondo and sanded it down. Thats kind of where im still at right now because i keep seeing spots that i need touch up. Also i need to figure out what the color code is for that stock grey plastic so i can color match it.
Any contructive criticism is appreciated as always
Also got this new DD unit (Pioneer AVH-4300DVD) since my alpine crapped out on me. Right now its ghetto rig'd in so i can use it. Ill make another thread once i make new brackets and mold the bezel
