Yep....I think I can mark this down as possibly the worst execution of a modification in the history of TYF. Holy Schnickies!

This is how to LED mod a puddle light. There is 5 strips of 5630's in there.
Was my prototype so you guys can LOL all you want.
I sanded and polished the texture off the lens, seems to be quite a bit brighter.
I also used chrome plastic paint to coat all of the assembly except the lense. it creates a mirror effect inside the housing to direct all the avalible light down and out, not up into the mirror assembly.

Yes doug but how many wires did you run external to your vehicle from under their frame, intertwine in your hinges and then behind the plastic trim piece and into your puddle light spot? :roflbow:

none :) mines plug and play. pop out old and in with the new :jester:
Also put strips inside the door marker lights front and rear.
Its setup so that the strips and the OEM bulb socket all work.
Allows me to run a LED bulb replacement as well added light from the strip and both work as a back up for each other if one goes out.

If anyone is interested, Ive got alot better and can mod your puddle lights and swap you modded door markers..
Have a handfull of sets.
Will try to remember to get pics of the door markers this eve.

We bagged on that poor guy, but got to atleast give him credit for fixing his problem, even if it was halfassed.

Thats cool. I have 5730 bulb replacements IIRC, which work pretty good, though that definitely seems superior as far as output. The chrome paint and sanding off the texture is a good idea.

Why not retrofit them with HID's while your at it?
