Pulled my side molding, and the paint came with it

I guess my passenger side door had been repainted or partially resprayed at one point. Paint came off like it was hardly on the truck. Gonna trim the excess loose off and fill with touch up plaint and wet sand and see how it looks. So far I just got one quick thin coat on. Pulled off like this in 2 spots on the same door. Possibly cover with some type of full length vinyl decal. If the wet sand doesn't look good enough to be ok from 5-10 feet away I'll have it repainted in the spring since I need a new rear bumper due to previous owner trying to paint match it himself with a rattle can. image.jpegimage.jpeg image.jpegimage.jpeg

That's sort of the reason I haven't demolded mine. Driver side was repainted, but the moldings we're taped over. So there's a ridge of paint at the edge. Can't see it unless the moulding is taken off. You're probably going to have to repaint the door.

Well this just told me I'm not demolding now. Would rather freshen up my crappy moldings than have to paint a door.

similar thing happened to me when i demolded mine. Passenger front door had light spots only where the molding was. Clear coat appeared fine tried to wet sand it and no change. Its weird the actual paint under the clear coat somehow seems damaged which didn't make sense to me. Gave me a reason to wrap the truck tho :)
