I've always wanted to ask this question but never have. What is the purpose of an underdrive pulley. I mean obviously it spins your accessories slower but does it actually impact your performance? I found one that claims to give you an extra 6.5 lbs-ft of torque at the rear wheels but that doesn't really make much sense to me. Seems like a lot of hype to me...like throttle body spacers. I can see how it might make a big difference on an engine that revs much higher than stock but otherwise I just don't see it making much of a difference at all.

Can someone explain the logic to me.

Very small difference really not worth it in my opinion. Anything that runs off the crank will rob some power. The idea is that by underdriving the accesories they will rob less power.
