Purple Power

Just wanted to give a heads up about the cleaner/degreaser Purple Power. It says on the label it'll damage aluminum, but who knew.
I used it to clean a center console. Did a pretty good job. I used an aluminum spray bottle. I left maybe 1/4 of the cleaner sitting in the bottle once I was done, that was maybe 2-3 days. This is what happened:
Just ate it up.
Bottom of bottle was filled with this:
So if you use this to degrease your motor just be aware. Again, this was after 2-3 days of sitting in the bottle.

Shit is no joke. It was cheap. Next time I use it I'm bringing out the power washer. It's great on greasey motors.

im about through a gallon jug of it, works nice as a degreaser. i've never let it sit on anything really that long always wash down after

It's potassium hydroxide. Aka CAUSTIC POTASH. there's sodium metasilicate in there, too. Also, CAUSTIC. LOL.

I`ve been using ZEP Heavy duty citrus degreaser an an old farmer told me about it. He used it to clean up his old tractor before he painted it and said it cut through years of crap easily. I`ve only used it on light grease and oil and it works great.

Haven’t used that stuff in years, but yep, zep worked great...

I stopped using these types of chemicals ages ago.

Health is far more important than using this type of stuff.
