Okay guys heres where I'm kinda confused....plan on getting 2 AQ hdc 15" subs(1200w rms a piece) and they only come in 1ohm dvc or 2ohm dvc and I intend to run a Hifonics BRZ2400.1d for both or the BRZ1700.1d for each sub, both mono amps to be ran at 1ohm. I know some of you may be against Hifonics but I love their amps and have never had any issues with them and they are affordable and are 2006 cea compliant too. So...if I go with 2 1700w amps(1 per sub) should I get the 1 or 2ohm dvc subs and if I go with the 2400w amp to power both would I need the 1 or 2ohm subs?

unknown at this time.
if 1700w is chose the buy the dvc 2 ohm per coil and wire coils in series to have the amp see 1 ohm load. for each separate amp/woof combo. if you choose 2400w amp 1 ohm dvc you want to wire it as such.

Thanks for chiming in SunlitComet! Yea I most likely will go with (2) Hifonics BRZ1700.1D amps, one for each sub, so you're saying I need to get the dvc 2ohm subs to draw a 1ohm load from the amps?

Thanks, im gonna get the dual 1ohm subs and the 2 amps, big 3 upgrade, and will prolly need to do the ** Alt and dual batts idk...** alt are sooooo expensive man...there's a place here in Denver that'll rebuild your stock for a higher output but it depends on how big the alt is i think. Plus I intend to ryn a smaller 2ch amp for the 2 pairs of door 6.5's, like to hear hard hitting bass but also love some nice clear crisp highs too.

I would get the 2400. Save $100 and it's not overpowering the subs.

if dvc 1ohom each on each of subs your wiring options will be either 0.5 or 2.0 ohms as seen by the amp.

Then if I do the 2 amps/2 subs(each sub has its own amp), i have to get the dual 2ohm subs?

Yea I know, but I've read so many reviews saying these subs are underrated and people running 2 AQ2200.1d amps to 2 of these subs so I figured 1700w a piece wouldn't be too bad lol...I just may call AQ and see what they say...

I'd go with 2 amps. Paralell wiring has less box rise, therefore more power. Also, there is no "too much power" for those subs. Keep them sounding clean, don't over-drive them.
