I had a question guys, I have a 2003 Yukon XL SLT.. I was wanting to put in a after market double din stereo with the GPS, and Back up camera. but I don't want to lose all the OEM sounds on my car.. warning tones, door chime, etc. I also want to see which would be the best system to install that would include the all I wanted, Touch screen GPS, Back up camera, and it would be nice if I could hook it up to work with my current after market over head DVD player. I would prefer to have the fixed screen on that does not fold down.

I'm very new at this after market stuff, I have only installed a stereo in my wifes trailblazer. If I could get some help with this it would be awesome.. Thanks in advance guys.

you will need a GMOS-014 adapter or a GMOS-100 in order to keep the chimes, OnStar and such. The 014 is less expensive than the 100. The only difference is the 100 uses line outputs and the 014 uses the speaker outputs. The nice thing about the adapters is that you can lower the volume of the chimes themselves. So far i am happy with the adapter i have.

I remember somebody telling me something about a adapter in the past, Thanks, and 2 other questions I did forget to ask was I have onstar (in my mirror) and was wondering will the new head unit do away with my onstar, I would like to keep my factory onstar. and my Yukon has the speed audio thing not sure whats it's called... the volume adjusts to the speed your driving, is that a stereo feature or a Yukon think that I will lose if i replace my head unit?... I'm trying to decide if I want to replace it. I would love to have the "factory, screen look"

with either of those adapters you wont loose your chimes nor your OnStar but you will loose the volume thing since thats in the radio itself... and I didnt have to install anything else other than the radio to get it all to work. Super easy, especially if you have wire crimpers and connectors already. Oh except that in order to get a double DIN deck in you will have to remove that damn bracket behind the OEM radio.

you might lose the variable speed volume change from the factory unit, but some aftermarket head units can do the same thing. As they also have a variable speed sensor input wire.
