Not sure really where to ask this, but..

my question is for those of you that know about pioneer and this dumb divx only video thing. Im trying to download some vids from youtube and whatever is on my computer, but its not working, says not playable. I have divx pro to convert them, but i cant convert the youtube .flv to divx, it wont let me, unless someone knows a way. I couldnt find a way w/ the divx pro.

Basically can some one tell me how to get music videos to play on my pioneer 4300. That says divx only im assuming. The instructions are greek to me. They never make sense.

thanks guys.

I have a pioneer avic z110bt so I'm not sure this directly applies but you need to convert it to .avi first... Thats what i did to make it work... Check your manual for all video extensions accepted it actually has a list in there. Or at least my manual does. Good luck!

Its probly the same as yours. From what ive done so far videos only work w/ the extention (playback) .divx. I tried some .avi files i did and it says unplayable. Thats where im lost. How are you converting your files? For youtube im using videosoft, then converting w/ divx pro.

You dog!!! ha ha ha!! That's a nice stereo, nice pickup!!

lol. man i had to. Got tired of the DING DING DING i mean LOUD. and i know my stereo could sound alot better. Just now i really need to sell some other things to pay for it.

Go to www.avic411.com. It's a very informational website on pioneer DD units. Search the threads there for that topic. They have a whole sticky /thread write up on the whole converting process. I just followed the directions on there to get it. I also have a pretty extensive .avi collection and following it, I get a high success rate but definitely not 100%. Hope that helps.

Alright need some other help now. Im trying to set up a backup camera i have. Its wierd to me. Its got the rca (goes to the radio backup cam) then on the camera there is red (12v) black (neg) and purple/white (says to hook up to reverse lights) Then on the back of the HU, there is the reverse wire, its purple/white also. What do i hook up to it?

From what ive been reading over on that site you posted felix, i cant really find to much. Except that red needs power, battery or so, then ground, self explanatory, but the reverse wire from hu needs to go to the reverse tail lights so it has a reverse signal? But then what do i do w/ the reverse wire on the camera?

Then another thought was it would be cool to be able to turn it on whenver and see whats going on behind me. I read on that, hook up the red to a ignition wire, then hook up ground, but with a spdt switch. But thats loosing me also. Wheres Chris?

But if you guys could help w/ just getting it to come on in reverse i'll figure out the rest later.

A friend of mine ran the rear cam for me so I'm not too sure about that one. I do always have the rear cam on while driving though. It's on the left side of my nav screen then on the right is the nav map. Split 60/40. On the z110bt, you plug in a certain color cable from the harness into a specific spot on the harness and it grounds it so the screen thinks it's always in park. So you can watch movies while not in park.

So now Mike just needs to know where under the dash he can hook up to for his reverse wire trigger for the camera and the headunit, so can someone shine some light on the best spot to find a wire for the reverse trigger?

Well on mine, there isnt anything cool like that for the camera being on at all times, at least i dont think so, still searching and not finding much on this unit, only the 4200, which is basically the same. Still looking though, Thanks Felix.

Chris-- appreciate your help big time. Going to try this new method we talked about and see if its dead or not.

But as he said, anyone know of a reverse wire inside the cab? Maybe a light green wire in the box in the drivers foot well area?

---------- Post added at 11:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:09 PM ----------

Well found this out on our good forum about the reverse wire? Can anyone confirm this?

Even easier, you can just hit the reverse wire at the BCM, blue plug, gray wire A8. This wire gets 12V with reverse, but NOT with the perimeter lighting. No need for extra relays or ignition wiring.

*EDIT*

I should emphasize that my info for 03-06. For 00-02, location of wire *may be* slightly different, just make sure to meter the wire before making a connection to it.
