Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and I have a question about retrofitting Morimoto projectors into Spyder headlights. I have a 2006 Yukon Denali XL. I bought a set of Spyder headlights and am in the process of retrofitting them with Moromoto projectors from The Retrofit Source. I bought the Spyder specific kit. I have the back of the old projector out, but have a question about the projector lens that came originally fitted in the Spyder housing. How do I remove them so I can use the glass from the new Morimoto projector? Do I need to cook the housing to break the front housing off? I was under the impression that this was supposed to be an easy retrofit. I've searched, but haven't seen any tutorials specific to my application. All I hear is retrofitting Morimotos into Spyder housings is supposed to be super easy. Can someone please give me some direction?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure how the Spyder assembly is, my but spec d tuning headlights you had to take the front lens off. It's really easy on aftermarket headlights, a heat gun and a flat head screwdriver and it's off.

The easiest retrofit for Denali is unbolt old projector from back side and bolt in new one on a plate. Not sure how your lights look but post pics so we can help

I tried to take the front lens of the Spyder assembly. That thing isn't moving worth a darn. I first baked it at 200 for 10 minutes and it wouldn't budge. I then baked it for another 10 minutes at 250 and still wouldn't budge. Baked it at 275 for 10 minutes and all I was doing was destroying the plastic itself. I ordered a set of Morimoto adapter plates and am going to use my OEM Denali housing instead. I really didn't have plans to use the halos and and stuff n the Spyders anyways. On the OEM housing, how do I get to the outer bolt of the factory projector? The inner most bolt is visible, but the outer most bolt is covered by the black trim piece.

I figured it all out. I got my Morimoto Mini H1's in my OEM headlights. I bought a set of adapter plates and all is well. Looks factory and a million times better, almost made my original halogens look like the battery was dying. Thanks for the help everyone!
