I have a 2005 Chevy Tahoe and when I purchased it a year ago the steering wheel controls where working but now they are not. Is it bad controls or what some say is the the clock spring?

Also I have an OnStar system but not currently active. Since it has a mic and uses the vehicles speakers I wanted to know if there is any way to hook up my cell phone to it but without having to activate OnStar.

I mean since the wiring is already done shouldn't there be a way to pair a cell phone to it?

Thanks for any and all answers.

This was done using Bluetooth which was introduced in 2009. Check the aftermarket to see if they have a BT adapter for yours. Don't know why the controls are not working, you'll want to know the internal BCM trouble codes.

Don't they something called Bluestar? Utilizes Onstar as a bluetooth. At least that's what I think it's called.
