Just figured out that if I cover the sensor with my hand during the day (i.e. Dark), the headlights turn off/ DRL turn on. When I uncover it (Full Sunlight), the headlights turn on. But at night; the headlights do automatically come on… weird.

Right, that’s what the service dept told me: the sensor has an error code, and needs replacing. Didn’t seem it was a software issue.
I made an appointment for this but I won't be able to get it in until 4/22... let us know if they get it fixed and working right!

My 30 day old Yukon SLT is doing the same thing, drl lights are on in normal daylight (early am) and as soon as there is bright sunlight the headlights come on. Nobody at GM seems to know what is going on!

I just got the ambient light sensor replaced and that seemed to be the fix. The DRL now turns on when it is supposed to as do the headlights.

Can you share the replacement part number please?
Thanks

My 2022 YUkon XL Denali was doing the same thing . I took it to the dealer and they found code B108E diag. They replaced the sensor and so far it has been working as it should.

Definitely the sensor, today I placed some amber transparent tape I had over the sensor (took about 15 pieces) and now the lights work as they should, DRL's on in bright sun and shade, headlights come on a bit quicker going into dark garage but that is to be expected with all the tape shading the sensor. My dealer has ordered the new sensor so hopefully it will be one that works.

Did you get a follow up on this? I’m about to send mine in. It definitely seems strange so many have this issue.
