Okay so I got a little pissed off today. I got the heater pads in my driver seats and then began running the wiring back for my heated seats and figured why don't I see if they work nope door handles need programed. Any idea if tech2 will connect with one of those usp ethernet adapters. So I can program using a newer laptop.

you will need a usb to SERIAL adapter, and then you will need to pay for the subscription 2 years per vin I forget the cost I think it's around $40-50
they have made some changes that price may not be entirely accurate.

Out of curiosity does the tech2 keep your vehicle saved after powering off, and then what's the Rj45 ports for, I thought those were for programing.

it does not save the vehicle, although some vehicle history may be stored on the tech2 somewhere it depends on what you are doing.
the rj45 port is serial rj, it's not a ethernet port even though it looks like one

It does not remember, have to build it every time. RJ45 was never used, the intended features using it were not developed.

TDS recently changed and the Tech-2 can only be used as a pass thru device now. So the Tech-2 and laptop have to be out a the car for programming. They also updated the requirements for the laptop so check to make sure yours meets it.
