I have heard a lot of different things so I wanted to get some facts hopefully before I buy. I need a bigger SUV but dont want anything new, With gas High the older Escalades are getting cheap where I am(North Fla) With that said I know the Escalade is just a Tahoe with a nicer inside.
What is the best early model too get? 99, 2000 or 01

Since the Tahoe Can be made to work pretty good off road can you do the same too an escalade? I am not talking about giant lift kits etc but I know the suspension is softer on the Escalades? So which model would be the best to improve to good off road or back country roads and which early model had the fewest glitches?

On a side note the front end changed in 02 can you update an 99 00 01 to the 02 front grill/lights?
Thanks in advance

I have a 03 esv awd have not took it off road but I took it up some dirt trails to go fishing. It performed well even with my oem esky 22's on it. I'm looking into lifting it 2-3" with some 20x10 with 33's next year if I still have it.

Until you really need 4x4 then awd kicks your ass.

Well true not having a low range really sucks but If you need low range then your probably somewhere your vehicle shouldn't have been in the first place :favorites37:
