looking to do a 3/5 drop. i have been reading about rear coils but have not found my answer.

Looking to get a Mcgaughys 3/5 kit. how are the rear coils with that kit. i have read that the djm coils are horrible and bell tech are great. what about the mcgaughys coils how do they ride. is their a great difference between the bell tech and mcgaughys. the difference in price is about $50 more for bell tech coil setup. is the $50 worth it? are the 4230's going to set my rear to low?

mcgaughys spindles
bell tech street performance shocks front and rear
bell tech 4230 or 5305 rear coils (would like the 4230)
djm rear hardware kit
djm torsion keys

or

mcgaughys 3/5 kit
bell tech street performance shocks front and rear

Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help

I have the 3-5 kit on my Tahoe
Front I have the djm a arms that lower the front 3" and rear I have the 4230 coils with rear hardware kit with added helper bags but even without the helper bags the ride is smooth
And as for shocks I have belltechs all around
The ride is great/smooth no complaints
You should hit up tony/norcalSS he'll get what your looking for!

here goes the complete set up proven and rides great as on godoys truck he bought from me. the 4230 springs mated to the belltech sp shocks are great this is why I only carry this set up with my custom 3/5+ kit

You wont lose turning radius and start with new balljoints in front. If you do spindles and keys you will need to get a alignment kit. If your doing towing in rear I would get helper bags and look around if you see the kit set up for cheaper ill beat it and I back up my sales with 24/7 support. PM me a link and ill see what I can work out.

BTW the belltech tb coils for 5 inch drop by far are the best riding out there with the belltech sp shocks

thanks for the replies.

with spindles i have heard a lot of alignment issues that need to be correct by buying camber kit, the decreased turning radius.

the DJM control arms also have their fair share of issues. Like the ball joints included are cheap and should be replaced right away (dont know if this is still an issue), the bushings go bad fast and create slop in the where the arm connects to the truck, lastly the arms have bad bump steer.

as for control arms the moogs are great upgrades

bushings go fast when you overtorque (past 35 pounds) and wrong grease used.

bump steer you can talk to people that have my kit with the belltech shocks front rides great and as far as major issues with bumpsteer havent really heard about it on the torsion bar trucks.

either way people will say one is better than the other in both cases. That being said the rear kit with the tb coils by far is the best riding out there just if you tow you will need helper bags.

The 6 inch drop springs that I had made will be nice riding also. There is a thread where i changed a members truck from spindles/keys to my 3/5 kit and he was very happy even posted up.

I'm running Belltech drop spindles and didn't loose any turning radius and my truck aligns fine. And I'm not using a camber kit. I'm pretty low in the front... I can barely fit my hand between the tire and fenderwell liner on 26's and I can do a U-turn and crank the wheel all the way with no problems. It might rub just a tiny bit but it's part of having a lowered vechile. Just my 2 cents...
