I read what you posted on the other thread, and you left me enlighten with what you said. I didn't know about the grade when it came to oil. But I'm sold on the Mobil 1 that you use, being it grade IV. Threads like this not only help, and inform the people looking for that answer, but also gives us knowledge, so as a consumer we don't get had. Thanks for the info, there is always somebody with the knowledge. I need to ask you kman. What oil filter do you use? Hey Kman, is the M1 that you talking about on the O'Reilly flyer?

They might carry the M1 0w-40. You'd have to go in and see. Every store is different.

As for filters, I've used a bunch that I listed earlier in this thread. I'm currently running PureONE filters by Purolator. They were on sale awhile back on Amazon for $5 and Purolator was running a $2 rebate so I got them for $3. :)

I run M1 oil and filters in all my cars, and I go 10k+ between changes. I drive 50 miles to and from work everyday, so no worries about unburnt condensation for me. I change the oil at 5k in my Cobra, only because it sits for longer periods of time, and gets driven harder (track passes, etc). I don't mind paying a little more for my filters as I believe they are far more crucial due to the components in them.

Is that what came with the truck, or you had them replaced?

No.....it's an OBS.....put new front ones one the day I got the right upper and lower ball joints replaced (bought those at NAPA). Did the rears a few months later with Monroes I bought off Amazon. The truck had the original shocks on it at 240,000 miles.
