Hey everyone,

I had a question regarding the protective liners you can buy for the trunk (doesn't matter Escalade / Yukon / Suburban). I bought them for my Escalade ESV because I liked the idea of not destroying the back with skis, gear, boots and other awesome stuff out in Colorado. The problem is that the velcro hook and loops never held to the carpet and they just fall down and slide around. I have tried a few different approaches but nothing works and I am probably going to just scrap the liners (200 failure).

Did anybody else get these liners from GM and did you have the same problems? Anybody have recommendations on some heavy duty hook and loop velcro that might work better?

Thanks all!

I got them and I actually secured directly to the carpet itself without using the sticky felt that came with them. So far they are holding on to the back of the seats just fine, however I don't move the seats up and down much. The small cargo liner that covers the carpet when the seats are up however did not hook to the carpet well so tried the felt circles that came with them and they held for maybe a day. So its just floating back there but doesn't move much. Not sure how long the others will hold but so far I haven't had any issues.

I mentioned this many moons ago on other thread, but get yourself some snaps off of Amazon and put them on all four corners. Your problem will be neatly and simply solved….

I bought a roll of velcro tape off amazon (has both sides of velcro with a tape-like adhesive on the backs). Cut it as needed to fit the mats and the trunk... adhesive didnt work too well so ended up supergluing the velcro to the carpet. Haven't had any issues since and can still take the mats out to clean them as needed. There are probably better alternatives... lol

How did you secure the snaps to the seats? I assume for the cargo area, you just used screws?
I personally haven’t done this as I have no need, but yes, thin screws wouldn’t scare me a bit. Others have done this and they said it worked great!

Do you have a link to the snaps you used? I think it’s crazy that these 200 liners use kids Velcro. I move my seats up and down a lot for skis, fishing poles, hiking packs and such and the Velcro just ripped off in seconds. Kind of annoying

On my '19 XL I used the Husky rear cargo mat, it was a nice mat but it had a smooth bottom and slid back enough to keep liftgate from closing properly. I tried velcro but it would not stick to the plastic in the back area. On my 21 I went with the WT mat, it seems to stay in place better.
