I have recently been looking at dropping my Tahoe on my current wheels and tires instead of forking out any more money for a new setup since my tires are brand new as of 2 weeks ago.

I currently run 16" MB Motoring Gunner 6 Wheels and 265/70/16 Mesa A/P2 Tires. I've been debating a 2/3 , 3/5 , or a 5/5 drop. What do you guys think would look the best?

I took a measuring tape to the fenders and found that the factory height front is 34.5" and rear height is 36.75". I then took 5 inches off both measurements and I feel it would look really good sitting that low to the ground on a wider tire like I have now.

What do you guys think? Opinions?

Taylor, I can say that 29.5" ground to fender is going to be super low and you'll find yourself spending a lot of time and money trying to get it to ride well.

I would recommend starting with a 2/3 with spindles up front and drop coils and shock extenders in the rear. See if you like how it rides and go from there.

BTW, check out this thread: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22507 to see where trucks really sit with certain drops and wheel/tire combos.

Alex, I have a 16 inch wheel and I thought you had to have 17's to run spindles?

if you slam it check otu the kit ive been offering for a while and works with 16s

im also releasing a 6 inch rear drop spring just going thru final testing

I would mind the kit you have a link too. Just a little steep for me right now.

im a little on the conservative side in my older age... years ago i would slam it in to the weeds but these days im looking for a snugger fit than factory but still want to maintain ride quality therefore i'd go for a 2/3 drop but since you have 16" wheels you can rule out using spindles which kinda sucks cause i feel thats the only real way to lower your vehicle and still maintain ride quality. you can do keys but your ride is gonna suck especially if your roads are kinda rough

Well my budget currently is going to be around $450-$500 this winter when I do lower it but I'm looking for opinion and options now.

I really think a 5/5 would be killer sitting that low, however, I think a 3/5 could suffice for now until I can get some keys for the front later.

have you considered swapping out your wheel and tire package for a set of 17's ? i shopped craigs list and scored a killer deal on a clean set of 17" wheels then found a steal of a deal on a set of tires that were 95% new . in the end i had a nicer set of wheels that will work with spindles and better tires than what i had . you can resell your wheels and tires to make up the difference and if you play your cards right you might come out ahead money wise
