That is the correct A/C belt for your truck (K040378).

You will also need to buy a large belt, and in order to find out which one you need you will need to find out what amp output your alternator has. I called the dealership with my VIN in hand and the guy was able to tell me (since I couldn't find it on the alternator case anywhere).

If the rig is old enough then the alternator could have been changed already and the amperage stamp may not be correct on the one on your rig. Best to match it to the VIN or RPO code on glove compartment cover.

Yall are over complicating it. 5.3 is a 15 min job very easy. No special tools needed and yes I would put silicone on the gaskets Imo It's better to be safe than have a leak and tear it back down

Thanks everyone for all your help. I *think* at some point the alternator was replaced but I honestly can't remember. I've had this one since probably 2005ish. Someone said I can look at the eighth digit of my VIN to determine what serp belt I need. But it seems to me like that wouldn't be the case necessarily if the alternator isn't the original. I'm gonna look at it tonight after work.

The 8th digit is the engine code.

Aight. Getting frustrated. But this is why I do all of this before I get into a project. Engine code is Z. I looked at the alternator and can't find an amperage stamp damnit. Only thing stamped anywhere on it is the front where it says Delphi Automotive Systems. Should I go to the sticker in the glove compartment? It'll be one of the codes that starts with a K, is that right? Can't thank y'all enough for the help.

Re-read this post. Chances are, if your alternator was replaced at some point, they did it with an identical alternator.

My bad. Actually reread your post right after I posted. I'm gonna call the dealership tomorrow. Thanks brother.

Code in glove compartment should be KG8 is a 130 amp and either K61, K62 or K65 would be 105 amp.

I'm pretty sure when you do the waterpump, you also need to replace the fan clutch. When I did mine, the waterpump came with a letter inside that said the warranty is void if you do not replace the fan clutch at the time of replacement. In order to avoid all that I removed the fan completey and did the e-fan mod. However, in your case, I would just get a new fan clutch and put the old fan back on.
